John Hardy Music

John Hardy Music announces the beginning of their first ever in-house performance group. The Hardy Syndicate is a group of musicians from which several ensembles of different shapes and sizes will emerge. The first group to be launched is Ensembl8, a group of eight musicians on violin, viola, cello, saxes, clarinets, percussion, drums, live electronics, and keyboards. Ensembl8 recently recorded the music to the film Cwcw and we are currently developing more repertoire to be performed live. We are exploring sonic-worlds from the intricate delicacies of polyphonic medieval music through to the sunny rhythms and organic sounds of East Africa and utilising unique elements created from live electronic manipulation. We are also developing an energetic and engaging performance style, striving to bring a theatrical element to the concert stage.
