Projects / Film / Cwcw (The Cuckoo)

The UK premiere of CWCW will take place at 15:00, Friday 28th November, at Cineworld Cardiff (Mary Ann St.) as part of the Soundtrack International Film and Music Festival.
CWCW is the story of Jane Jones, a jobbing writer for the awful soap opera 'FAMILY DOCTOR' starring the 'heroic' Dr Gareth, played by her incompatible, alcoholic husband. Approaching forty, Jane is on the verge of a mental breakdown. With her marriage on the rocks and artistic streak stymied by her boss, Jane makes a decision to break away and reinvent herself, only to find that when you run from then past, it tends to follow, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality.
Cwcw, which won the Best International Feature Film Award at the International Film Festival of South Africa is a hilarious satire on the world of Welsh media people, where unconscious irony rubs shoulders with real tragedy and terror, in stunningly strong performances from virtuoso lead actors.
Stori JANE JONES (Eiry Thomas) yw CWCW - sgriptwraig opera sebon o Gaerdydd yn briod a'r actor SAM LLYWELYN (Rhys Richards) sy'n chwarae'r brif ran yn y sebon sef DR GARETH. Yn dilyn cyfres o ddigwyddiadau annioddefol, mae hi'n rhedeg i ffwrdd gyda dieithryn llwyr (Aneirin Hughes) ac yn ail greu ei hun fel rhywun arall mewn pentre diarffordd. Er hynny, ni all ddianc oddiwrth ddryswch ei meddwl ei hun na chysgod y gorffennol yn enwedig pan ddaw doctor newydd i'r pentre!
Directed by Delyth Jones, starring Eiry Thomas, Aneirin Hughes and Rhys Richards.
